THE EUROPEAN CIK-FIA OK AND OKJ CHAMPIONSHIP MOVES INTO TOP GEAR.

After the round of the European CIK-FIA Championship for the OK and OKJ categories – two weeks ago in Italy -, the drivers of the two categories are already eager to get back on track, together with the cadet drivers taking part in the CIK-FIA Academy Trophy. Their Championship arrives in Portugal, at the Circuito International do Argarve in Portimao for the third out of four round of the Championship, before of the last round, which is scheduled at the weekend from 28th to 31st July in Genk (B). The Portuguese race is going to be crucial, given that the gaps between drivers are much narrower after the appointment in Adria (Italy). All the frontrunners will aim at gaining as much ground as possible over their opponents, in order to prepare the final sprint towards the continental title. The weather will be much different from the one drivers met in Adria, where the rain played a key role. This time drivers and teams will need to cope with the summer temperature of south Portugal. As usual, it will be possible to follow the final day of the round on 26th June on cikfiachampionship.com and cikfia.tv. The streaming will start at 10:30am with the drivers’ parade, then the Pre-finals and the Finals of the three categories. Don’t miss, the following week, the special report with the highlights of the event on Motors TV.

THE PROTAGONISTS IN PORTIMAO.
There are 171 drivers ready to battle on the 1,531 metres of the Portuguese track during the three-day long event. Both the leaders of the two standings are surrounded by a hard-fighting pack of rivals. In the OK, the Polish Karol Basz (Kosmic-Vortex-Vega) leads with 76 points; behind him the American Logan Sargeant (FA Kart-Vortex) and the English Tom Joyner (Zanardi-Parilla). Do not underestimate Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG-Parilla), relaunched by his success in Adria. In the OK Junior the leader is the Danish Noah Watt with 77 points, followed by the Danish Isac Blomqvist (both on Tony Kart-Vortex-Vega) and by the Brazilian Caio Collet (BirelArt-Parilla). In the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy, Callum Bradshaw won with flying colours the first round in Essay. The English leads the standings with 52 points ahead of the French Thomas Mialane and the Da
